FIXTURE CHANGES

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3080857,00.jpg
MK Dons have applied to have both fixtures against Lincoln
switched to Friday nights.

MK Dons are currently in negotiation with three other League Two clubs and the Football League to rearrange four fixtures for the coming season.

The club has proposed that the home games against Notts County in September, Lincoln City in October and Brentford in December all be moved to the previous Friday evening. Lincoln have additionally requested that our corresponding fixture at Sincil Bank in April be switched in the same way.

Agreements have been reached between all clubs and we hope to receive a response from the Football League by the end of the week.

Confirmation of the proposed changes are:

- Notts County (home) to take place on Friday 7 September, kick off 7.45pm
- Lincoln City (home) to take place on Friday 12 October, kick-off 7.45pm
- Brentford (home) to take place on Friday 21 December, kick-off 7.45pm
- Lincoln City (away) to take place on Friday 4 April 2008, kick-off 7.45pm

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3295021,00.jpg
MK Dons have agreed a three-year deal with Nike team
sports retail partner Just Sport.

Milton Keynes Dons have signed a major three-year kit deal With Nike's team sports retail partner Just Sport Pro Club.

The deal will see the world famous Nike swoosh on Dons shirts until 2010. The deal also involves Just Sport taking over the retail operation on behalf of the club when the new stadium opens.

Michael Heslop Sales Director for Just Sport Pro Club said: "Both ourselves and Nike are delighted to be forming an association with the club at this exciting time in its development. The new stadium is absolutely fantastic and we are confident the supporters will love the kits."

MK Dons Chairman Pete Winkelman said: "The Nike brand has become synonymous with sporting excellence. It is a world-leading sports technology company that, through our partnership with Just Sport, we are now able to associate with our club.

"The stadium has set a benchmark for quality that can only see it associated with people who share our common goal - to achieve top class football in Milton Keynes."

The Dons' brand new kits for the 2007/2008 season will be unveiled later this week along with further details as to when supporters will be able to get their hands on it.

The Stadium superstore is due to open in July prior to the pre-season friendly against West Ham United.

Guv'nor emerges as new favourite

http://editorial.jpress.co.uk/web/Up...4Dons-Ince.jpg
Paul Ince is the new favourite for
the vacant MK Dons manager's
job.

MACCLESFIELD Town manager Paul Ince has emerged as the shock new favourite to succeed Martin Allen as MK Dons manager.
The Citizen understands the former Manchester United legend has leapfrogged ex-Coventry boss Micky Adams as the club's first choice after impressing Dons chairman Pete Winkelman in talks.

The Dons are remaining tight-lipped about Ince but sources close to the club expect the 39-year-old former England international to be named manager this week.

However, the deal is yet to be concluded and possible stumbling blocks could be that Ince ideally wants to remain near his family in Wirral and compensation would have to be agreed between the clubs.

Ince is contracted at the Moss Rose club until the
end of December, after which he has a six-month rolling contract.

A spokesman for Macclesfield dismissed the speculation and told the Citizen: "It is no surprise that Paul is being linked with other jobs as he did very well last season, but he is busy planning Macclesfield's pre-season at the moment.

"As far as I know we have received no approach from MK Dons. If he was seen at MK Dons it could have been for any number of reasons, maybe he was signing Izale McLeod?"

Ince, who was pipped to the Leicester job by ex-Dons boss Allen earlier this month, has caught the eye of a number of bigger clubs after steering rock-bottom Macc to League Two survival in his first managerial job last season.

Ince has won 14 and drawn eight of his 35 games in charge and has earned a growing reputation for his super man-management skills and infectious enthusiasm since his appointment last October.

WTF?! Кой пропуснахте, мениджъра на Чавдар...

Ince and assistant set for Dons move

Paul Ince looks set to be named
the new manager of MK Dons

By Jon Boyle
MK DONS were last night thrashing out compensation with League Two
rivals Macclesfield to land Paul Ince as their new manager – with Ray Mathias set to be his number two.
Ince, 39, has agreed the move south to become Martin Allen's successor and last night Dons officials were finalising a compensation deal in the region of £50,000 for the remainder of his Moss Rose contract.

The former Manchester United midfielder wants to bring his experienced Macclesfield assistant Mathias – who has managed Wigan, Tranmere and Chester – with him to the Stadium:MK.

Ince also wants to appoint his former England team-mate Les Ferdinand as a specialist striker coach to work with the Dons' forwards.

Milton Keynes are remaining tight-lipped about Ince until the deal is completed but yesterday (Wednesday) they were still hopeful he would be unveiled at Denbigh North before the weekend on a two-year deal.

Ince jumped ahead of long-time favourite Micky Adams earlier this week as the frontrunner for the hot-seat, which has been vacant since ex-Dons' boss Allen quit for Leicester City a month ago.

A source close to Pete Winkelman explained why the Dons' chairman has opted
for Ince, who has been in management just nine months, instead of more experienced candidates like Adams.

He said: "The chairman feels Ince has got the ambition, burning passion and hunger to make a name for himself in management and he believes he can get the best out of the players to get us promoted.

"Micky Adams was a strong candidate but I think the chairman wanted a more up-and-coming boss in the Aidy Boothroyd mould, desperate to prove himself as a manager."

Ince, who saved Macclesfield from relegation despite them being 14 points adrift at the bottom when he joined last October, is contracted at Macc until December.

Macclesfield were unavailable for comment when the Citizen contacted them yesterday (Wednesday).

The Silkmen have so far kept silent about the Dons' approach for Ince and they dismissed the move as speculation when the Citizen contacted them on Monday.

Не знам нямам си и на представа как ще бъде новия тренер... представи се що годе добре в Макълсфийлд, бе ще го видим... Само промоция се иска от него, нищо повече...:D

Rock icon Marshall Amplification have signed a new deal with
the Dons until the end of the 2009/2010 season

Milton Keynes Dons FC is delighted to confirm a three-year extension to its partnership with music giants and main shirt sponsor Marshall Amplification.

Following Monday's announcement of a deal to see the Dons' kits supplied by sportswear colossus Nike, this latest deal will see the famous Marshall scribe completing the fantastic new-look Dons shirts.

Marshall, a constant alongside the rock music elite for a staggering 45 years and based a stone's throw from the Dons' incredible new stadium, has been the club's main sponsor since 2004, bringing an unprecedented level of "cool" to Dons strips for the last three years.

MK Dons Chairman Pete Winkelman said: "Marshall have been, and continue to be, solid supporters of sport in Milton Keynes and, as a club, we are incredibly proud to wear the greatest rock and roll emblem in the world on our shirts."

Marshall Managing Director Victoria Marshall also sees the new deal as great news, with a bright future ahead for all involved. Speaking to www.mkdons.com, she said: "We are please to be able to continue our sponsorship and association of the Milton Keynes Dons."

"We feel that with our support, Pete's leadership and the new home, the Dons wil be able to build on their solid foundations to attain the success they deserve."

Инфро за Пол:

PAUL INCE: ENGLAND HERO

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3299645,00.jpg
New MK Dons manager Paul Ince was inspirational and a key
figure for England throughout the 1990's.

Ince made his England debut in a 1-0 defeat to Spain in Santander in September 1992. He made history in the summer of 1993 when Graham Taylor handed Ince the skipper's armband, making him England's first ever black captain in a match against the United States.

Though England failed to reach the 1994 World Cup in the States, the following campaign - for which they would be the hosts - was far more fruitful.

Playing as the foil for a marauding Paul Gascoigne, Ince was part of the England side that beat Scotland, the Netherlands and Spain en route the semi-finals of Euro 96 where they were beaten by Germany on penalties.

Ince's finest hour in an England shirt arguably came in the France 98 qualifying campaign in one of the iconic images of the football in the 90's. With England needing to avoid defeat against Italy in Rome to reach the Finals, Ince heroically overcame a bad head injury to lead his side to a goalless draw.

After more shootout agony in the Finals, this time against Argentina, Ince helped England qualify for Euro 2000 in Belgium and Holland. After a campaign where England failed to go past the group stage, Ince retired from international football.

OUSTANDING: Ince shows the bravery and courage that he
was known for during that memorable night in Rome

PAUL INCE: THE PLAYER

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3299631,00.jpg
HAPPY DAYS: A trademark celebration with Ryan Giggs

Ilford-born Ince made his professional debut as a 19-year-old substitute for West Ham United in 1985. He became a mainstay in the Hammers midfield, developing a reputation as a tough-tackling midfield general with excellent passing ability and a powerful shot.

He left to join Manchester United in 1989 for £1million and forged a formidable midfield partnership alongside England captain Bryan Robson. United won the FA Cup in his first season after beating CrystalPalace in a replay and the trophies just kept coming.

They won the European Cup Winners' Cup the following season, beating Barcelona in the final in Rotterdam, and the League Cup the year after that.

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3299632,00.jpg
Paul Ince holds aloft the Cup Winner's Cup after beating
Barcelona in Rotterdam with Manchester United

1993 brought United's first league title in 26 years as Ince, along with the likes of Mark Hughes, Eric Cantona and a young Ryan Giggs, came out on top in the inaugural Premier League campaign.

It got better the following year as United won the League and FA Cup Double but after losing their Premiership crown to Blackburn the following season, Ince cast his sights abroad.

Few English players can claim to have conquered a land outside these shores, but Ince's two-year spell with Italy's Internazionale (pictured) is widely regarded as one of the most successful campaigns.

The England midfielder made light of his £8million price tag and a notoriously tough-to-please Milan crowd to score 10 goals in 54 league appearances and become a San Siro favourite.

In his second season, Inter finished third in Serie A and reached the final of the UEFA Cup where they were beaten by German side Schalke.

Ince returned to England with Liverpool in 1997, playing at Anfield for two seasons. While his time with the Reds did not see him add to his medal collection, it was a personal triumph for Ince in his return to English football.

A move to Middlesbrough resulted in 1999 (pictured), taking on the role of club captain and making 106 appearances for the Teesiders. He moved to Wolves on a free transfer in 2002.

He helped Wolves win Premiership promotion in his first season though was unable to help them maintain their status as they dropped back into the Championship the following season.

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3299634,00.jpg
Ince became well known for his powerful shooting from
distance - demonstrated here while with Wolves

After leaving Wolves in the summer of 2006, Ince signed a one-year contract with SwindonTown as a player/coach, making his debut against the Dons in the Robins' 2-1 win last September.

He took over from Brian Horton at Macclesfield on 23 October 2006.

THE GUV'NOR: New MK Dons manager Paul Ince, pictured
here during his reign at Macclesfield Town

Having taken over at Macclesfield in October last year, Ince inherited a side that was languishing at the bottom of League Two, seven points adrift of their nearest relegation rivals.

While their first league win didn't come until early December, Ince's arrival stemmed the tide with some valuable draws and their cup form proved somewhat incredible.

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3299617,00.jpg

Macclesfield assistant, at
his side

Despite their lack of a league scalp, the Silkmen beat League Two trailblazers
Walsall and Hartlepool on their way to dream third round tie at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea won the game comfortably but the run had served its purpose, as Macc won six of their seven league games in the run up to it.

It won Ince, 39, the Manager of the Month Award for December and proved the run that would turn Macclesfield's season.

A draw on the final day against Notts County ensured their survival, an outstanding achievement by the club given their position when Ince arrived.

The determination shown by his side in their battle against the drop was reminiscent of Ince the player - one of the great England midfielders of 90's.

"100% FOCUSED AND READY TO GO"

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3300581,00.jpg
New MK Dons manager Paul Ince gets his point across during
today's press conference at stadium:MK

Monday 25th June saw former England, Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince named as the new manager for Milton Keynes Dons FC.

Speaking at the press conference to announce his arrival, Paul spoke of how impressed he had been already with the group of players he would be inheriting. He said: "I'm excited with the squad, we've got some fantastic players - we'll probably look to one or two additional players but looking at the squad there's no reason why we can't be up there, challenging for promotion."

And when asked why exactly he chosen to join the Dons, the man know to fans as the Guv'nor made it clear that the ambition of Chairman Pete Winkelman had been a major consideration. He continued: "Coming here was never about money - It was just the stadium and the dream of the Chairman. He wants to take this club into the Championship, maybe even the Premiership and I just want to be a part of that.

"Money-wise, there's not much more we can do with the side, as there's already a good side here. We're excited about the prospect and we're looking forward to the first game of the season."

But, at the same time, it was obviously still a difficult decision for Paul to make the move to MK and leave Macclesfield behind. He added: "Macclesfield gave me my chance in management and I owe them a lot but I went there to do them a job and that was to keep them in the Football League.

"I've done that now, and I think it's time for me to move on.

"Look at the stadium, look at the facilities and the hunger of the Chairman, what he wants to achieve at this club and it excited me, it excited my staff and I just want to be a part of it."

And looking ahead to the upcoming campaign, the former England captain made it clear that he sees the Dons challenging for honours in League Two this season. He said: "Our ambition is to get promoted into League One.

"We nearly got there last year but just fell at the last hurdle so we're just focusing on our job in hand over the first season and see where it takes us."

And in order to achieve that ambition, it is clear that Ince, who played for some of the great footballing teams of the 1990's, sees an attractive style of play as the way forward. He explained: "Looking at the squad we've got here we've got some good footballing players and the clubs I've played at have always played football the right way.

"Whether we're winning, losing or drawing my principles will never change and it's important that you do entertain.

"The fans are coming to this lovely stadium and it's important that you play the right kind of football in this stadium. Even though I spent my career as a tackler, the team's I've played for have been footballing teams and I've got to try and do exactly the same with MK Dons."

Also joining Paul at the club will be his management team of Ray Mathias and Duncan Russell, who he spoke about during the conference. He said: "Ray was instrumental in keeping Macclesfield up last year and also Duncan Russell, he's served me for twenty years and he knows his stuff.

"Ray did well at Tranmere and at Wigan and, to be fair, when I first took the job at Macclesfield I didn't have a clue who the players were hence why I brought Ray in - he knew everyone, where they came from, whether they were good enough or not and without these two guys next to me we would never have achieved what we did last year."

One factor Paul will definitely bring to club in his role as manager is commitment - a topic he broached when asked if he would be relocating to the Milton Keynes area. He said: "I'll probably spend three or four nights a week down here.

"I've had a chat with the Chairman and he's put me up in a house so we as the staff will be here. Obviously when you've got a wife and kids it makes it a difficult decision but I've had a chat with the Chairman and it's important for me to be around MK Dons to do my job and if I'm not, there's no point in me taking the job.

"I'm 100% focused and I'm ready to go."

CRAWLEY FIRST UP FOR DONS

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3303816,00.jpg

The Milton Keynes Dons have today added the name of Crawley Town to their list of pre-season opposition.

Paul Ince's team will take on the Sussex club, managed by former Boston United manager Steve Evans (pictured right), at Crawley's Broadfield Stadium on Saturday 14 July, kick off 3pm.

The game is set to be Ince's first in charge of the Dons, and the team's first match together since last season's play-off semi-final.

Speaking to Crawley Town's official website, Evans made it clear that he is genuinely excited about the game and renewing old acquaintances. He said: "Paul and myself have an excellent relationship and I am delighted he has agreed to have his first game in charge of MK Dons here in Crawley.

"It should prove to be an excellent occasion and I have no doubt there will be a vast number of football supporters in and around Crawley who will want to see Incey at first hand given the fantastic career the man has had both domestically and internationally.

"In my opinion he will go on to be one of the top managers in the game and I look forward to once again taking him and his boys on."

Ticket details for the game have yet to be announced, so stay tuned to www.mkdons.com for all latest information as it happens.

PRE-SEASON UPDATE

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...2923428,00.jpg
ROCK 'N' ROLL: The Dons will travel to Kettering Town's
Rockingham Road home on Saturday 4 August

The MK Dons have today added two more games to their pre-season schedule as their build up to the new campaign takes shape.

Hot on the heels of the opening game at Crawley Town, the Dons will take on a Chelsea XI side at stadium:MK on Wednesday 18 July - this game has been added the schedule as a 'ramp-up' event for the Dons' new home, with a limited number of tickets being issued to the club's season ticket holders and selected other guests - the fine details for this game have yet to be confirmed, however, so stay tuned to www.mkdons.com for all the latest news.

Away from Milton Keynes, the Dons are set to take on Mark Cooper's Kettering Town at their Rockingham Road ground on Saturday 4 August, kick off 3pm.

The game with the Poppies will be the Dons' final first team fixture before the big League Two kick off, and will be a crucial element in Paul Ince's pre-season plans.

Again, ticket details for this match have yet to be agreed and www.mkdons.com will be first with all the confirmed prices.

"THEY'RE A GOOD SET OF LADS"

http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3305766,00.jpg
Ray Mathias and Paul Ince discuss the Dons' first day back
at Woughton after a busy summer for the club

After the MK Dons first day back in training, www.mkdons.com caught up with Ray Mathias as part of yesterday's MK Dons World's Dons Show.

Obviously pleased with the team's first session together, Ray said: "It went very well indeed.

"When all the players first went out they were a bit unsure as to what was going to happen, what with all the cones set out but it was a relaxed session to get everyone in and bond everyone together and I'm sure that everyone enjoyed it very much indeed."

And with this being the first opportunity for Ray and manager Paul Ince to have a look at the squad, it seems that the Dons management duo are pleased with the players at their disposal. He continued: "They're a good set of lads - you don't get to the play-offs if you're not a good player and they achieved that last season.

"Unfortunately they never got to go further but looking at the standard of what we've got at the club there's some really good players.

"Hopefully we can build in certain areas that we want to, but looking at the squad I'm excited by it."

The next step for the Dons pre-season is a week long stay in Portugal, giving the coaching staff a chance to really mix things up and prepare the team for the season ahead. He added: "For a start they'll be training three times a day instead of twice!

"We've got to adjust certain things while we're out there to adapt to the weather and there will be certain things we can and can't do - some of the sessions may be a little shorter but I can assure you that they'll be working hard during that week.

"What we're trying to do is not get them to the peak of their physical fitness in the first week but we'll measure their fitness - we've got Duncan Russell as our fitness coach who can do that; he's worked really hard in organising their fitness programmes but we've got to be very careful with them to guard against injuries in the first week as well.

"I'm sure when the boys come back from Portugal they'll have enjoyed it very much indeed."

And with the first pre-season game now just two weeks away, thoughts can now turn to football, as Ray was quick to point out. He said: "I think everybody just wants to get out there and play; we had a game in training this morning and you can see that

"There's no better thing than just being amongst the boys and having a kick around, 10v10 or 11v11. I'm sure the boys will have come away from today have played some good football and enjoyed it immensely.

"We always think that if the lads are enjoying the game and playing well, that's what we want."

Paul Ince looks on as the players are put through their paces

Today, Friday 29 June, saw the Milton Keynes Dons players report back to training for the first day of pre-season with new manager Paul Ince and his team.

After collecting their new Nike training kit, the players took part in a short warm-up before a small-sided game, which even gave the manager a chance to put his boots on and join in.

With several trialists joining the familiar faces of the first team, www.mkdons.com was on hand to catch a few glimpses of the team in action.

Having got this session out of the way, the next event on the Dons' horizon is a week long training camp in Portugal, starting on Monday, before a testing match at Crawley Town on Saturday 14 July.

The tricky 25-year-old right winger, who played 42 games for the Saddlers last season before his release after their title triumph, was joined by ex-Macclesfield midfielder Alan Navarro, 26, in the Dons' first training session back after the summer break at Woughton-on-the-Green.

Liverpool academy product Navarro, who can play central or right midfield, turned down a new contract at Macc in favour of following Ince to the Dons.

He scored two goals in 38 games for the Moss Rose club last season and was a key player in their escape from the drop.

Meanwhile, former Dons midfielder Nick McKoy, 20 - who left for Cardiff City last summer - is back in training with MK in a bid to re-sign for the club after his release from the Bluebirds this summer.

The Citizen understands that eight of the triallists will now travel with the Dons on the first
team's training trip to Portugal next Monday.

Clive Platt (:()was absent from Ince's first training session as he finalises his move to Colchester, while skipper Keith Andrews and Lloyd Dyer were away on holidays booked before the new boss's arrival.

Andrews and Dyer will be back in time to fly out to Portugal with the rest of the team, but injured players including Aaron Wilbraham and Paul Mitchell - who were not at training - will not travel.

Dons assistant manager Ray Mathias told the Citizen: "It was a bit of a light-hearted training session just to get everybody acquainted and for us to get to know the players really.

"It went well - the quality is here as we knew it was and they've proved today there's some excellent players in the squad.

"Some of the triallists were a bit nervous today but once they get settled down they'll start performing the way they can perform."

Тримцата дано са потенциални трансфери и следователно трансфери :153:, жалко за Плат... :( добър си беше, но за там си беше (за Колестър де :P:).

PLATTY HEADS FOR THE U'S

Dons striker Clive Platt has today departed for Colchester

Milton Keynes Dons FC have today agreed a deal with Colchester United that sees Clive Platt join the Championship club for an undisclosed fee.

The Dons have reluctantly allowed the 29-year-old striker to join the Layer Road outfit after his most successful season in professional football.

Clive joined the Dons from Peterborough United in January 2005, ironically making his debut for the club against Colchester that month.

During his time in Milton Keynes, Clive claimed 29 goals from 112 appearances and enjoyed a particularly successful campaign in the season past, netting on 18 occasions and finishing joint third in the League Two top scorer charts.

Speaking to www.mkdons.com, MK Dons Chairman Pete Winkelman made clear his disappointment at seeing Clive depart. He said:"It's with a great deal of sadness that we can confirm that we have allowed Clive to move on.

"He's been one of our stand-out players since joining the club in January 2005, and after his terrific performances last season it is no surprise he has captured the attention of clubs at a higher level.

"Clive has never played at Championship level before, and at this stage of his career it is an opportunity too good for him to miss. I know it's been a heart-rendering decision for him to make as well, but is is one we all understand.

"We sincerely wish him all the best for the future, and I am sure I will not be the only one who will be keeping a keen eye on his fortunes this coming season."

On completing his deal with the U's, Clive said: "It was difficult to leave the Dons because I got on so well with the fans and had a great rapport with the Chairman.

"I've been there for two and a half years and made a lot of friends. They are a good club but it is completely different being able to come to a club in the Championship."

Официалното преминаване на Плати в Колчестър, за съжаление на Доновете... :(

Hayes Wings In
Posted on: Wed 04 Jul 2007

New signing Jonathan Hayes was delighted to receive the telephone call he had been hoping for last month.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 winger, who has put pen-to-paper on a three year deal at the Walkers Stadium, spent the back end of last season on loan at MK Dons from Premier League new boys Reading under the watchful eye of then boss Martin Allen.

Hayes, who celebrates his 20th birthday next week, went on to make 13 appearances for The Dons and in the process left, what turned out to be, a lasting impression on the new Foxes chief.
