The Club can confirm that Leicester City have made an official approach to speak to Paul Ince about the vacant managerial position at the Walkers Stadium.
As has been well documented, this is not the first time we have had to deal with interest in Paul's services and, given his achievements last season, it comes as no surprise that we find ourselves at this juncture again. Paul is currently away on a family holiday and we will address the situation with him upon his return. We have no further comment to make at this time. Alby was honoured by judges on the panel after a string of outstanding performances in the final seven games of the season, as the Dons stormed to promotion and the League 2 title. After an end-of-season team getaway and a family holiday for the 28-year-old Mancunian, this week was the first chance for Wilbraham to get his hands on the trophy to put with his League 2 and Johnstone's Paint Trophy winners medals. It completed an April-Double for the Dons with manager Paul Ince picking up the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month award for League 2. While Alby and his team mates still have a couple of weeks' rest ahead of them, their preparations for pre-season training will not be too far away as the squad turn their attention to the new campaign, which starts in August. The Dons' fixtures for their return to League 1 will be unveiled on Monday, when supporters will have their first glimpse at when the Dons will face the likes of Leeds, Leicester and Carlisle. Dons defender Drissa Diallo has today signed a one-year contract extension at stadiummk. Having spent two seasons with the Dons after signing in June 2006, the vastly-experienced 35-year-old has now agreed terms to stay with Paul Ince's League 2 Champions until June 2009. Diallo made 35 appearances and scored two goals in the Dons' Double-winning season, proving an important part of the defensive unit both at centre-half and full-back. A shoulder injury robbed the former Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday man of a chance to be part of the season's climax. But his contribution to the Club's historic season was huge as Ince's men secured promotion to League 1 and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley. Now well on the road to recovery following a successful operation, the former Guinea international can look forward to another successful season with the Dons in League 1. Dons manager Paul Ince has completed his first new capture of the summer after recruiting midfielder Peter Leven from Chesterfield. The 24-year-old former Rangers and Kilmarnock player will join the Dons on free transfer on July 1 after his contract with the Spireites expires. The former Chesterfield captain has agreed a one-year deal at stadiummk and will join up with his new team mates for pre-season training at the beginning of next month. Leven made 44 appearances and scored six goals for Chesterfield last season having signed from Killie the previous summer. An energetic, ball-playing central midfielder, he has also been known to operate out wide or at full-back. Leven came through the youth ranks at Ibrox and joined Kilmarnock in 2004 in search of first-team football. Milton Keynes Dons FC can today confirm the departure of its manager Paul Ince to take up the vacant position at Blackburn Rovers. The Club has a tremendous season under Paul's guidance, winning promotion via the League 2 title and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley. We were aware that a number of clubs would be alerted to Paul's considerable talents and that retaining his services might prove an impossible challenge. After what he has achieved in his time with the Club, we cannot deny Paul the deserved opportunity to work in the greatest league in the world, and we know everybody in Milton Keynes will join us in wishing him every continued success in what is certain to be a fantastic managerial career.
