KELLY SET FOR INTERNATIONAL BOW Tue 23 Oct 2007 http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3441722,00.jpg Dons Academy midfielder Liam Kelly will become club's first Milton Keynes native to receive international recognition this weekend when he travels to France with the Scotland Under 18 squad. Kelly, 17, has been named in the 18-man squad for the three-game, week-long tour where Scotland will face Turkey, France and the United States. Kelly's call-up is the second for a player from the Dons' developing Academy - Kieran Murphy having represented the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side last season ahead of his first team breakthrough. Kelly, now a second-year scholar, will travel to Glasgow on Saturday evening to meet up with the Scotland squad, before departing for Lyon on Sunday morning. The squad will be based in Limoges, a city in central France situated west of Lyon. MK Dons Director of Youth and Community Mike Dove said: "We should be very proud as a club and as a community of what Liam has achieved. "The manager has already recognised his ability by naming him on the bench for the Carling Cup tie against Sheffield United and it's great that he has received this added recognition. "Liam has a great attitude, he wants to be a winner and has worked exceptionally hard on his game in the last few years. "It's an example to kids of what can be achieved by players at this Academy and underlines the fact that Milton Keynes is producing quality, young footballers." Squad to travel: Michael Andrews (Falkirk), Jonathon Brown (Hearts), Craig Connell (Celtic), Steven Coutts (Motherwell), Nicholas Gallacher (Rangers), Michael Graham (Celtic), Stephen Hendry (Brentford), Sean Kerr (Livingston), Liam Kelly (MK Dons), Scott McManus (Stenhousemuir), Andrew Milne (Leeds United), Carlo Monti (Celtic), Alistair Park (Rangers), Kris Renton (Norwich City), Oliver Russell (Hibernian), Ryan Strachan (Aberdeen), Michael Tidser (Celtic), David Wotherspoon (Hibernian). The Milton Keynes Dons have been drawn away to Crewe Alexandra in the first round of the FA Cup. The Dons were handed the tricky trip to Gresty Road in Saturday evening's draw live on the BBC. After some excellent performances in the Carling Cup and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy this season, Paul Ince's men are sure to provide a big test for Dario Gradi's League One side. The tie is due to be played on the weekend of 10 November. Full arrangements and ticket details will be available soon on mkdons.com Е след загубата ни от Стокпорт си мислех, че по-лошо не може да стане, но се опровергах. Край с мечтите ми за "МК Донс в Европа". :( |

KELLY MAKES SCOTLAND U18 DEBUT Tue 30 Oct 2007 http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3441722,00.jpg MK Dons apprentice Liam Kelly made his Scotland Under 18 debut on Monday while on a three-match tour in Limoges, France. Kelly, 17, came on as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 defeat to Turkey, taking to the holding midfield role with the with the strong tackling and precise passing followers of the Dons Under 18s will have become used to. Turkey opened the scoring half way through the first half in the Stade Saint-Lazare, taking their lead into the break before Kelly's introduction on 65 minutes. Scotland fell a further goal behind shortly afterwards before pulling a goal back late in the game. Kelly told mkdons.com: "I thought I did ok, I wasn't expecting to be involved until the next match but the manager decided to put me in. "It took me a few minutes to get used to the pace of the game but once I'd had a few touches I enjoyed myself. "We played quite well as a team and managed to get a goal back late on but just couldn't find an equaliser." It was the first game of the tour for the young Scots, who returned to their camp to prepare for Wednesday night's game against France in the Stade Beaublanc. Scotland's final game of the tour takes place on Saturday afternoon, when they face the United States, again at the Stade Beaublanc. ;) Academy Director Mike Dove explained how tightening up early on in games has helped his Under 18 team turn their fortunes around. The young Dons followed up a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa last week with a 2-0 win at Tottenham on Saturday, now collecting the results Mike feels their performances have merited. Sam Collins' tremendous free-kick on 16 minutes and Sam Baldock's excellent finish on 78 gave the Under 18s their second win in a row at Spurs having thumped their Premiership opponents 6-2 away last season. But Dove says that had to be wiped from the players' minds before they stepped foot on the pitch. He said: "The win there last season was playing on the minds of both sets of players before the game and we knew Tottenham would be up for the game off the back of it. "I spoke to the players before the game and told them to forget about last season and instead use the win over Villa as their incentive to do well again. "Again, we worked very hard in the first 20 minutes against a very talented Tottenham side. They were finding pockets of space at times that we worked hard to counteract. "It was probably the most pleasing factor of the day - that we have managed to overcome this hurdle of conceding an early goal. "The fact that we got one ourselves was a complete reversal of what we've had recently and it sets you up for the rest of the game. "We kept the work rate up in the second half and to get the second goal was a fair reflection of how the game went." The late postponement of Monday's reserve game against Grays Athletic denied many of the club's apprentices the chance to play a second game in three days. But it did give the scholars the chance to train with the first team ahead of their trip to Watford on Saturday. Mike added: "It was disappointing not to have the reserve game yesterday as the younger players would have gone into it with a bit of confidence. "But the manager has allowed them to train with the first team today and it's very good for them to train in that environment. "On Wednesday we'll start looking ahead to Watford, get refocused and work on the areas that we still need to improve on." Ей и на Тотнъм им не е леко, сега ги бихме, миналия път в Лондон с 2-6, ц-ц-ц... :( BY THE WAY: http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/pa...155866,00.html - 1-вият въпрос... :fans_bg: |

CARAYOL IN ACTION AS CRAWLEY GO OUT Wed 31 Oct 2007 http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3451562,00.jpg Young Dons winger Mustapha Carayol was in action for Crawley Town again on Tuesday night, but he couldn't prevent the Red Devils going out of the FA Cup at Aldershot. Carayol, 18, joined Steve Evans' side on a one-month loan at the end of last week, scoring on his debut in Saturday's 1-1 draw against their Blue Square Premier rivals at Crawley's Broadfield Stadium. But in Tuesday's replay at the Recreation Ground, Louie Soares' second-half strike proved enough for Aldershot to book a place in the First Round Proper, where they will travel to Cambridge United. Utilised on the left flank, Carayol showed some excellent touches and was his usual bright as he tried to inject some pace into the game when possession allowed. He created possibly Crawley's best chance of the game, producing a second-half diagonal ball right into the path of Jon-Paul Pittman but the Crawley striker was unable to finish. Muss's loan spell will run up to and including Saturday 24 November and he is expected to be involved again when Evans' men travel to Halifax in the Blue Square Premier on Saturday. ;) |
INCE NAMED MANAGER OF THE MONTH Thu 01 Nov 2007 http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3453228,00.jpg MK Dons manager Paul Ince has been named Coca-Cola League Two Manager of the Month for October. After guiding his side to the top of the table at the end of September, Ince went on to mastermind four wins from five games in the following month, maintaning his side's position as League Two leaders. The Dons steamed past Mansfield, Bradford, Lincoln and Hereford in October as well as progressing the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a 3-1 win over Peterborough. Last Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Stockport is the only blemish on their record for the month. Ince was selected as League Two's top boss ahead of nominees Paul Fairclough of Barnet, Bobby Williamson of Chester City and Rotherham's Mark Robins. The Championship award went to Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd ahead of Ipswich boss Jim Magilton, Ian Holloway of Plymouth and Bristol City's Gary Johnson. In League One, Swansea manager Roberto Martinez was announced the winner ahead of Dennis Wise of Leeds United, Dean Wilkins of Brighton and Carlisle boss John Ward.
