WRIGHT ON CUE http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3315263,00.jpg Mark Wright becomes Paul Ince's second capture of the summer. Milton Keynes Dons have completed the signing of midfielder Mark Wright on a two-year contract. The former Walsall man, 25, becomes Paul Ince's second signing as Dons manager after being released by the Saddlers at the end of last season. Following a successful trial period at the Dons' pre-season training camp in Portugal, Wright joins Kevin Gallen in the list of Ince's new recruits. Wright made 141 appearances for Walsall after making his debut for the club in 2000. A short loan spell at Nuneaton aside, he has been with the Saddlers since rising through their highly-regarded youth setup. http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3315265,00.jpg Mark Wright signs on the dotted line for MK Dons. After tying up the formalities of the deal on Tuesday evening, he said: "I'm delighted to be here and to be working under the Gaffer, he was one of the main reasons why I decided to come to MK Dons. "I had a few clubs interested but this was the one I had to come to because it's a big club. "Hopefully we can do well and get ourselves promoted." A full interview with Mark is coming soon on Dons World. МК Донс - Присъединяването на тралистите, част 1: Марк Райт :153: |
Cameron agrees to Dons move
http://editorial.jpress.co.uk/web/Up...%20Cameron.JPG Colin Cameron By Jon Boyle MK Dons Reporter FORMER Coventry City midfielder Colin Cameron has verbally agreed a one-year contract with MK Dons...and will sign officially on August 1. The Citizen understands the 34-year-old former Scotland international, who was released by the Championship club this summer, will put pen to paper at the stadium:mk when his Sky Blues contract expires. Dons manager Paul Ince has moved to keep Cameron, who scored two goals in 27 games for his country and was bought by Wolves for £1.75million in 2001, after the 5ft 8in playmaker impressed on trial during the club's tour of Portugal. Dons assistant boss Ray Mathias said: "Colin has been keeping himself fit and he's done very well in training. "He's taking his coaching badges at the moment because he wants to get into that when he finishes playing, but he's still got a lot to offer on the pitch. "He has bags of experience, he's a box-to-box midfielder, a good passer and he can score goals." Cameron is in line to make his Dons debut in their first pre-season friendly at non-league Crawley Town this Saturday, kick-off 3pm. Manager Ince, who will be taking charge of his first MK match, will use the game in West Sussex as an opportunity to look at several triallists in competitive action before deciding whether to keep them. Dons assistant boss Mathias said: "We're all looking forward to the game. The triallists have settled in well with the rest of the squad and we'll see how they get on against Crawley now. "We've got to start making decisions because there are a lot of bodies around the place – we'll make decisions on them when we have to." Midfielder Keith And-rews missed training yesterday (Wednesday) with a minor injury while striker John Hastings had to be helped off the practice pitch by medical staff, so both are doubtful for Saturday's clash with Steve Evans' Conference side at the Broadfield Stadium. Utility man Aaron Wilbraham is set to miss out as he is yet to start training after his ankle operation. :dance3: Много добро 4-то попълнение... :dance3: Хм... но (за мен) е лошо, че пък още един mid. и то добър може да "избута" Аарън от титулярното му място, пък и стая контузия, но може да означава, че Алби ще цъка като нападател (ай дано...) :153: TOTO JOINS WORLD TEAM http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3316938,00.jpg Salvatore Schillaci takes on England 'keeper Peter Shilton on his way to the Italia 90 Golden Boot. 1990 World Cup hero Salvatore 'Toto' Schillaci has added his name to the growing list of global football legends who will appear for The World at Milton Keynes' stadium:mk on Sunday July 29. The Alan Ball Memorial Cup: England v The World, screened live on Sky One, pits legends from the domestic game against a team of international stars in honour of the former England midfielder. Ex-Juventus and Inter striker Schillaci, whose six goals in the 1990 World Cup earned him the Golden Shoe for the most goals scored and Golden Ball for the most valuable player, joins a squad that includes Chelsea and Italy's Gianfranco Zola OBE, 1996 European Footballer of the Year Matthias Sammer, ex-Spurs and Germany midfielder Steffen Freund and Sweden's 1994 World Cup hero Tomas Brolin. Alan Ball Memorial CupPaul Fifield of event organiser Guerrilla championed: "Schillaci's signature is just one more in the growing squad of famous names set to take the Milton Keynes stage on Sunday July 29. Be they World Cup, European Championship, Champions League and UEFA Cup winners, former internationals from across the planet or winners of the Italian, German and English League titles, it is likely there will be a player on the stadium:mk pitch that has lifted every major trophy in European football." Schillaci won the 1990 Golden Ball over Lothar Mattheus and Diego Maradona while his Golden Shoe success was at the expense of four-goal hitman Gary Lineker. A game against England will bring happy memories for the Sicilian Schillaci, his last World Cup goal for the Azzurri was against the Three Lions in the 1990 third-placed play-off. Schillaci made 417 first class club appearances in Italy and Japan scoring 154 goals. Tickets for The Alan Ball Memorial Cup: England v The World are priced at £30 for a Family Ticket (Two adults and two children), £12 for adults and £6 for children. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or on 0870 145 1179 (24 hr). VIP Tickets available on request. Мм... интересен мач ще бъде... :) усещам... ;) |

Ince casts eye over non-league starlets
By Jon Boyle MK Dons Reporter http://editorial.jpress.co.uk/web/Up...nd-Prosser.jpg Lindon Meikle (left) and Matt Prosser (right). MK DONS manager Paul Ince is running the rule over two highly-rated non-league forwards as he looks to bolster his strike-force after Clive Platt's departure to Colchester United. Powerful Newport County striker Matt Prosser, 20, went on tour to Portugal with the Dons and is still training with the club, while pacey 19-year-old Eastwood Town hit-man Lindon Meikle started a three-day trial yesterday (Wednesday). Prosser progressed through the Newport academy ranks and holds the record of being the Conference South club's youngest ever first team scorer at the tender age of 16 when he found the net in a Gwent Senior Cup tie. The pint-sized Meikle, who has had trials with Newcastle United and Peterborough, fired 18 goals for Unibond Premier league side Eastwood last season on his way to their academy player of the year award. Got mine! :D |
CRAWLEY TOWN V MK DONS http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3305766,00.jpg Dons manager Paul Ince talks tactics with his assistant Ray Mathias. http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3318035,00.jpg Saturday sees Paul Ince's first match in charge of Milton Keynes Dons as they travel to Crawley Town for their first pre-season friendly. Having fitted a training camp in Portugal and some valuable sessions at Woughton in his two weeks in charge, Ince will get the chance to cast his eyes over the squad in match action against the Conference opponents. In addition to the current squad, Ince and his assistant Ray Mathias will be assessing the players they have brought in on trial. Dons fans will also get their first chance to see new signings Kevin Gallen and Mark Wright at the Broadfield Stadium. As can be the case, the first few sessions of the new season has not been without bumps and bruises - John Hastings took an accidental knock to his back in training earlier in the week but should be fine to take part on Saturday. Scott Taylor has a knee problem that, though not as serious as first thought, could keep him out this weekend. http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3305774,00.jpg The Dons have been going through the early part of pre-season with new manager Paul Ince. Having had successful operations on respective knee and ankle problems in the summer, Keith Andrews and Aaron Wilbraham may find the game comes too soon for their recovery schedule. Transfer-listed striker Izale McLeod is expected to be with the travelling party and could play some part against the Red Devils. New Crawley manager Steve Evans, who took over after departing from Boston United, was able to give his side a productive run-out in a training game against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday, the Championship side winning 3-2. http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3318245,00.jpg New Crawley Town manager Steve Evans. Having recruited Glenn Wilson from Rushden and Diamonds, midfielder Tyrone Thompson and striker Guy Madjo to the ranks. Goalkeeper Ashley Bayes, former Boston defender Jamie Stevens, defender Bradley Thomas and Brazilian striker Magno Vieira have also been recruited to bolster Evans side to challenge for a place in the Football League next season. Да са само добри дни там... MAKING YOUR MARK http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3319567,00.jpg Ground staff have been busy marking the pitch at stadium:mk. Work on the pitch at stadium:mk has been ongoing since last August, but only on Friday - five days before its first game - have the pitch markings finally been laid down. With the Dons set to face a Chelsea XI in a ramp up event next Wednesday, head groundsman Joe Aylett and his assistant Mark Frew have had the paint barrow out to lay down the undercoat. One full mark of the pitch uses 15 litres of a high-tech marking compound - the same one used by ground staff at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium. Assistant Manager Ray Mathias, Fitness Coach Duncan Russell and First Team Analyst Andrew Stone were among the admirers as Joe put the finishing touches to a fine job. http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3319567,00.jpg Head groundsman Joe Aylett marks the penalty spot at the Cowshed end as Andrew Stone and Duncan Russell look on. The dedicated ground staff will carefully mark out the pitch before every game played on it but the first coat is the most crucial as it will set up every one that follows it. Joe explained: "With the rate the grass has been growing we have had to leave the first mark as late as possible or it would have just grown out. "The first mark is the most important one and it has taken us the whole day to measure it, string-line it, mark it out and make sure it is accurate. "We're pleased with the result and we'll mark it again on Wednesday ahead of the Chelsea game." http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3319562,00.jpg A closer view of the penalty area in front of the Cowshed. |
CRAWLEY TOWN 0 MKDONS 0 http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3319962,00.jpg Trialist Luke Howell in action against Crawley Town. As is normally the case in pre-season fixtures, a number of new faces were given the chance to impress. For the Dons, these came in the shape of eight trialists starting and three on the bench. Former Don Nick McCoy started the game in the heart of the midfield alongside fellow trialist and captain of the afternoon Luke Howell. Former Torquay stopper Nathan Abbey started the game in goal while the respectable number of travelling Dons fans would be made to wait for a first glimpse of new signing Mark Wright, who was named among seven substitutes. Howell was immediately into the action and when he was crudely chopped down in the box during the Dons' first attack, referee Graham Horwood incredibly denied him a penalty. Neither set of players seemed completely comfortable on a pitch where the grass looked a fraction long. That coupled with the inevitable rustiness summer brings made mistakes inevitable. Abbey tipped Thomas Pinault's shot over before Reds striker Magno Vieira astonishingly failed to capitalise from one such error. Dons right-back Rubin Hazell's back pass was far too short and as Abbey desperately tried to meet it, Vieira successfully charged him down. Bang in front of the net with the goal at his mercy, the Crawley striker somehow contrived to put the ball wide of the right-hand post. http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3319980,00.jpg Paul Ince directs proceedings at the Broadway Stadium. It was an amazing let off but Ince's men took the warning well, tightening up noticeably with Mark Phillips and Kieran Murphy taking control. Howell went on another burst after the referee played good advantage following a foul on Tony Carayol but his low shot was easily saved by Ashley Bayes. Sam Baldock showed good strength on 41 minutes as he turned away from his marker to send strike partner Matt Prosser into space. But having made room for a shot, Prosser failed to make a decent connection. Two minutes before the break and Crawley put together the best move of the half. Dannie Williams and Guy Madjo combined to send full-back Glenn Wilson away down the right, but his cross to the far post was miscued by Steve Evans. Half time brought the expected wholesale changes for the Dons. Goalkeeper Sam Russell, midfielder David Navarro, youngster Stephane Koffi and Frenchman Van joined Wright for the second half. http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/ja...3319984,00.jpg Mark Wright wins a header in an impressive debut for the Dons. Wright's pace and guile provided a real threat down the right and his impressive early touches showed just why Ince needed very little convincing to snap him up on a free this week. Crawley's attempts to load balls into the box proved relatively fruitless with Hazell, switched to centre-half at the break, proving a big obstacle to pass. Liam Kelly and Ollie Thorne were introduced with 20 minutes to go, the former in particular looking as sharp as he had finished last term. Chances remained at a premium though had Crawley weighted their passes a little better in the final third they might have forced Russell into action in the second half. Wright nearly blotted his copy book when he gave the ball away on halfway and let Tony Scully escape clear, but made up for it in seconds with a fantastic recovery run to prevent Scully getting a shot on goal. Kelly curled in a right-foot shot from 20 yards at the death that was tipped wide - the closest the Dons came to goal in the second half. Е, както е написано нормално си е, като видях "новите" футболисти в отбора... ми то само триалисити и играчи резервния отбор, пък даже и от U21... Е, пак добре е... :) |

Whether or not a move to Kingsmeadow happens, Hammersmith-born Gayle admitted he was proud of his Wimbledon FC connection - and insisted he wanted no affiliation with controversial League Two side Milton Keynes Dons. "I don't like my name being mentioned with MK Dons," he added. "I didn't play for the MK Dons; I played for Wimbledon FC. "Wimbledon was the crest I had on my badge, not the MK Dons. "I have got nothing to do with them at all." |

Milton Keynes Dons finally move into their new home on Wednesday night when they face Chelsea in a pre-season friendly at stadium:mk. Though the fixture is technically a "ramp-up" event to obtain the relevant safety certificates, it will have all the feel of a big match as Dons supporters get their first chance to see the team in action at the stadium. Aside from it being an historic event for the club, it will be another chance for new manager Paul Ince to cast his eye over the squad ahead of the new season. While Ince and his assistant Ray Mathias took the chance to look at many trialists in Saturday's goalless draw at Crawley Town, Wednesday will be a chance to see some of the established pros in action - as well as a few more looking for contracts. All fully-fit members of the first team squad are expected to be involved in some capacity. After training on the pitch for the first time on Tuesday, the players will undoubtedly be chomping at the bit to get going. Keith Andrews in back in full training and will be looking to play some part while Izale McLeod, Leon Knight, Jon-Paul McGovern and Sean O'Hanlon will also be in contention for some game time. Chelsea's side is likely to include a high percentage of young players, with most of the first team on tour in Los Angeles. However, they will be able to call upon highly rated duo Jimmy Smith and Michael Mancienne - both of whom spent last season on loan with Queens Park Rangers. Anthony Grant, who played against the Dons twice last season while on loan with Wycombe Wanderers could also feature. |
MK Dons 4-3 Chelsea XI
http://editorial.jpress.co.uk/web/Up...-DONS-LOGO.jpg MK Dons By Jon Boyle MK DONS got off to a winning start at their new Denbigh North stadium as they came from behind to beat a Chelsea XI 4-3 in a thrilling pre-season friendly on Wednesday night. Liam Bridcutt and Phil Younghusband put the youthful Premiership side 2-0 up inside the first half an hour, but Kevin Gallen's header and skipper Keith Andrews' penalty ensured it was 2-2 at the break. And second half goals from MK substitutes Izale McLeod and Drewe Broughton – on trial after his release from Chester – ensured Dons boss Paul Ince got off to a winning start on home soil, while Ben Sahar pulled back a late consolation for the Blues. Milton Keynes started brightly with some slick passing football but Bridcutt put Chelsea ahead against the run of play in the 26th minute. Bridcutt wriggled free on the edge of the box and drove in a fierce 25-yard strike that triallist goalkeeper David Lucas could only tip into the corner of the net. Younghusband doubled the Blues' lead on the half hour mark from the penalty spot after he had been brought down in the box by Dons centre-half Drissa Diallo. Younghusband coolly slotted the ball low into the corner past the dive of Lucas, following vain protests from the Dons defence that Diallo's offence had occurred just outside the box. But Gallen pulled a goal back for the Dons to make it 2-1 just three minutes later. The veteran former QPR striker stole in unmarked at the far post to easily plant a five-yard angled header past Chelsea goalkeeper Stuart Searle from Lloyd Dyer's corner. Dean Lewington almost equalised for Milton Keynes when his swerving 18- yard drive fizzed just over the top corner, before Andrews made it 2-2 from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time. The Dons skipper sent Searle the wrong way from 12 yards after Gallen had been barged over in the box by Blues skipper Adrian Pettigrew. Both teams rang the changes at the break as the Dons replaced their entire first eleven – with former Boston striker Broughton taking Gallen's place up front – while Chelsea made nine changes. And fellow half-time substitute McLeod put the Dons 3-2 up with a super individual goal in the 62nd minute. McLeod picked the ball up 40 yards out and turned defender Shaun Cummings inside-out before drilling a low finish past substitute keeper Rhys Taylor and into the corner of the net. Substitute Jude Stirling scuffed a great chance straight at Taylor as the Dons piled forward late on, before Broughton deservedly made it 4-2 from another penalty in the 71st minute. Broughton smashed the ball emphatically into the top corner from the spot after McLeod had been dragged down in the box by Blues' defender Michael Mancienne. Sahar pulled a goal back for Chelsea with a ferocious angled drive into the roof of the net in the 89th minute before the transfer-listed McLeod wasted a golden chance to make it 5-3 when he somehow fired against the post from three yards.
